THE pupils of St Ronan’s Primary and Nursery School in Lisnaskea can hang their capes up with pride after their ‘Superhero Week’ for Autism NI finished with them raising a fantastic £2298 for the charity.
The children were tasked to perform five ‘Superhero Tasks’ during the week, ranging from carrying shopping, keeping their room tidy, and feeding their pets or birds, and were given sponsor forms for donations. At the end of the week, they got to dress up as their favourite Superhero and were handed a certificate and badge to confirm their ‘Superhero Status.’
The principal of the school, Michael Grew shared his feelings on the week.
“The NI Superhero Week is something the school has been incredibly supportive of. The amazing families and children of the school community have been outstanding in their support of the Autism NI charity and especially the Superhero Week. Everybody was really enthusiastic to help, and the children were very well deserving of dressing up as their favourite superhero at the end of the week. It’s great to see how much the families and community get behind the charity and add to the enjoyment of it all.”
