A GANG of hooded and armed men forced their way into a house in Enniskillen in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday), only to discover they had raided the wrong address.
The resident of the home on Kilmacormick Avenue in the county town was left shaken but uninjured following the terrifying ordeal, which happened in the middle of the night.
Detectives are now appealing for information following the raid, which is being treated as an aggravated burglary.
“At approximately 2.20am we received a report that five men wearing hoods and armed with hammers had entered a house in Kilmacormick Avenue,” said Detective Sergeant Curley.
“The men broke through the front door of the property and confronted the occupant before realising they had entered the wrong address.
“They then quickly made off in a red coloured Mercedes C Class in the direction of the Cornagrade Road.
“Luckily the resident was uninjured however has been left badly shaken by their ordeal.”
Det Sgt Curley added, “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with our enquiries, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 113 of 06/08/24.”
