FR Brian D’Arcy feels that Shane MacGowan’s legacy will be how he ‘bridged an amazing gap’ within the music scene in Ireland and further afield.
Following a long battle with illness, Mr MacGowan passed away at his home in Dublin, surrounded by family, aged 65 years old.
The Kent-born singer was an adopted son of Tipperary and he made an immeasurable contribution to Irish music, rising to fame and stardom as lead singer of The Pogues.
