Patient travelling 230 miles a week for treatment

FERMANAGH patients are being forgotten and “left just to deal with it themselves.”

That is the heartbreaking message from one local woman currently battling cancer, who, just a couple of months after surgery, is currently having to travel at least 232 miles for appointments each week, including chemotherapy in Derry and physiotherapy in Omagh. This does not include any additional appointments she may have.

The woman has so far received no financial help with her travel situation, having been told her application for support is currently backlogged in processing.
