THIS year two Fermanagh families celebrated Christmas a little differently as they welcomed new babies into the world.
New mums Kerrie Keenan and Hannah Bleakley undoubtedly both had a Christmas that they won’t ever forget. The staff at the South West Acute Hospital maternity ward were on hand throughout the day to ensure that the new babies entered the world safe and well. Both mums are reportedly adjusting well to motherhood and all that goes hand in hand with having a newborn baby at home.
Speaking to the Herald Lisnaskea couple Kerrie and Kevin Keenan, said that daughter Rionagh was doing ‘absolutely brilliantly’.
Rionagh Keenan, the couples first child, was born at 6.31am on Christmas morning, and weighed 6lbs 1/2oz.
Kerrie added, “She’s been very good so we can’t complain. We got home on Boxing Day. It’s nice to be home and get into a routine. We’re getting used to having a new baby in the house and it’s all foreign to us. It’ll take another we while for us to adjust yet.
“She was about ten days early, she just couldn’t wait any longer. She wasn’t due until the 5 January. It was a nice Christmas surprise. I’m glad she’s here and it was special to have her on Christmas Day as well. It’s a Christmas we won’t forget.”
