Appeal for witnesses to child ‘hit and run’

WITNESSES are being sought after an 11-year-old boy was injured during a ‘hit and run’ accident.
The young boy was crossing the road near the old Cinema on Forthill Road, Enniskillen last Friday at around 3.45pm when a lady driving a white car collided with him.
The boy sustained bruising to his right knee and left ankle after being knocked to the ground by the car. It is not known what kind of a car was involved in the accident.
At the time of the incident, the driver did stop and ask if he was OK, but then left the scene and did not contact Police or the child’s parents.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and said,
“Were you in the area/Did you see the incident? Do you have any dashcam footage of it?
If you were the driver, please make contact with Constable Hoey at Enniskillen station on 101. The driver’s obligations in these situations are clear, please come to us before we come to you. This could easily have been worse and the county has seen far too many tragedies on it’s roads.”
Meanwhile, in Roslea, the driver of a silver pick-up type vehicle which crashed into a garden on the Corraghy Road, Roslea is believed to have fled the scene.
The incident occurred at around 9.30am on October 4 when the vehicle smashed into a local resident’s garden, damaging the property’s fence before driving off.
Due to the severity of the incident the vehicle would have sustained damage to the front lights. It was later seen travelling down the Follum Road.
Police in Lisnaskea are continuing investigations, classifying this as a hit and run incident.
Appeals have been made asking for the driver to come forward to help sort it out.
