Fancy walking under the stars to help raise funds for Horizon West Children’s Hospice in Killadeas? Then it’s time to sign up to their Annual Midnight 5K Walk/Run around Enniskillen.
Join them for entertainment, fun and games and a warm up at the Lakeland Forum from 10:30pm this Friday, September 29 before setting off on an atmospheric walk around Enniskillen at midnight.
This year sees a dramatic change to the iconic event as organisers have decided to add in a challenging 5K run which will be chip-timed for all the competitive runners. The route will be the same as usual and the runners will start slightly ahead of the walkers. There will be spot prizes and a prize for the person with the most sponsorship.
Heather Fallis, Community Fundraiser said: “We continue to be overwhelmed by the support we receive each year from the local community and this year have decided to include a 5K which we hope will attract runners from wide and far. It is thanks to the local community and events like this that we are able to continue providing this essential service for local families.
“The Midnight Walk is just one of several fundraising events that we organise throughout the year and we invite everyone to come and join us on this fantastic night.”
Horizon West Children’s Hospice and the care provided in the child’s own home is a vital service for local families, affording them with the specialist nursing care and respite that life-limited children and their families need.
“By raising just £30 we are able to provide one hour of specialist nursing care for those children,” Heather added.
Registration is now open and you can register either online: www.nihospice.org or by calling into collect a registration pack from either the Hospice Shops in Enniskillen or Lisnaskea or by calling Heather on 07711377338.
