Christmas festivities in Enniskillen get underway with the annual switch-on of the Christmas lights

Enniskillen decorated for Christmas

Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage which occurred in the Diamond, Enniskillen during the early hours of this morning, Monday December 5th.

The Christmas tree was vandalised and numerous decorations broken, lights torn down and branches on the tree broken off. One of the light displays was also damaged and the parts were located in Eden Street car park.

In a Facebook post, the Fermanagh PSNI said,

“The elves working hard at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council have spent a lot of time and effort trying to decorate the town and bring a festive feeling to Enniskillen. The PSNI do not take kindly to anyone trying to be a grinch and ruin Christmas.”
