He was later charged with driving with excess alcohol in breath, no driving licence and using a motor vehicle without insurance. He is due to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on the morning of Monday August 3.

A third man, aged 21, was arrested in the Halls Lane area of Enniskillen at approximately 4.50am on the same day. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

All charges are to be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Chief Inspector Joe McMinn said: “I would advise motorists to never ever get behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking alcohol. If you are going out for the evening ensure that someone within your company is not drinking and can take you home at the end of the night. Or, alternatively book a taxi to collect you.

“It is never worth drink driving. To do so could mean the end of your career if you need your vehicle for work and at worst you could kill someone – this is a price too high. Could you live with yourself if this happened?”
