A NEW JOB is not the only element of newly instated principal of St Mary’s Brollagh’s life that is changing.

Indeed Paul Marks began his role at the school with his wife expecting the couple’s fifth child – so it has been a busy gestation period for the Downpatrick man. He replaces Simon Bradley, who had been acting principal.
While commuting daily from his home, Mr Marks hopes to ‘spend more time in the area’ once family arrangements settle.

Announcing his new role to parents, through a letter sent home, Mr Marks said he was immensely proud and excited’ about the coming months and years.

“I would like to extend my thanks to the pupils and staff and indeed some of the parents I have met already for their very warm welcome to the area,” he said, “I also wanted to personally thank Mr Bradley who has done such sterling work in the school and has helped me so much in my first week.”

Mr Marks has worked in the education sector for over 18 years, and has been in senior management for over five.

“My philosophy in life has always been that pupils who work hard can achieve greatness and that is my message I give to the pupils of St Mary’s. I look forward to working with you and your child in order for them to achieve holistically as well rounded individuals with the best start in their lives, ready for a changing world.”
