OVER 100 staff at BT in Enniskillen will be taking calls from across the UK this tonight (Friday) – as part of the annual Comic Relief campaign.
The centre has been chosen as one of nine call centres across the UK who are to answer calls as part of the campaign that has raised over £960 million since its inception.
TV viewers who tune in to a range of programmes centred around Red Nose Day are encouraged to pick up the phone to vote. And, if you do so, you may find yourself on call to one of the 120 volunteers from the BT call centre at the Broad Meadow in Enniskillen.
This is the third year that the call centre has been involved in the campaign, and back in October handled thousands of calls from the Cancer Research UK ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ campaign.
Team manager Anita Maguire explained: “This is our third year in succession that we have hosted the Comic Relief Telethon.
“Our people are passionate about helping raise money for worthy causes and we are happy to use our skills to ensure that all the phones are manned. Over 120 volunteers are coming to the site between 18.30 and midnight travelling from all over Northern Ireland to be with us on the night.”
The money raised by the public helps people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and Africa.
