NEXT YEAR’S St Patrick’s Day will have a ‘movie magic’ theme, and the organisers, Project St Patrick are urging as  many contributors as  possible to beat the Guinness Book of Records for the most entries.

Meanwhile, the committee’s AGM was held on Thursday 16 October  in the Crowe’s Nest, Enniskillen.

Their spokesman reported that, since 17th March this year, the voluntary team that make up Project St Patrick have been working hard behind the scenes to bring an even bigger and better festival to the county town for 2015.

“As we are not in receipt of guaranteed yearly funding, we kicked off our series of county wide fundraisers with a pub quiz in Eugene’s in Maguiresbridge.

“So, we ask our supporters to keep an eye out for a night out, near them in the coming months. Visit our facebook page Project St Patrick for updates.”

Turning to the decision to go for a ‘movie magic’ theme, she said 2014 had been a great year for seeing Northern Ireland on the world’s Film and TV stage.

“That being so, in celebration of this, our theme for next year is Movie Magic. We have written out to schools, clubs, businesses and organisations with ways in which they can get involved, and we are planning another record breaker attempt so it’ll be really simple for the kids to participate in the main parade.”

And, there has been some good news: the committee have just welcomed two new volunteers, so, if you are interested in getting involved, now is the perfect time to come along.
