Work on the new Devenish College site on the Tempo Road, Enniskillen will begin next week.
In anticipation of a positive outcome from the Economic Appraisal , and in light of the Minister for Education’s statement to the Assembly on 22 September 2014, reaffirming his commitment to a new Build for Devenish College, the WELB is progressing with enabling works on the Tempo Road site. These works will commence the week beginning 13 October 2014.
Woodvale Construction will begin Phase 1 of the works to provide an entrance road, site compound and enabling works in advance of the culverting works and removal of the drumlin. Design work on the removal of the drumlin and culverting works is being completed and contractors will be appointed later this year to complete the works.
Barry Mulholland, WELB Chief Executive, stated ‘this a very positive step forward in the delivery of a new Devenish College on the Tempo Road site. The work is the beginning of a programme of works to prepare the site in advance of a new school build’.
Alex Baird, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Devenish College, said he was delighted that Phase I of the enabling works is to commence and that the new school is a step closer to becoming a reality.
