Imelda was hand-picked by L’Oreal Matrix, which is the number one salon product in American, to be the official hairdresser to the stars which was organised by Sally UK. The Fermanagh woman will be working behind the scenes where she will primp and preen celebrities including Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding.

“There will be plenty of performers around but they haven’t told us yet who we will be working with yet,” she explained. “I think I’ll be nervous but as long as I do my job and enjoy myself that’s the main thing. It will be a great experience and I’ve invested in a festival wardrobe for the trip. I’ll be heading straight to the airport after work on Friday with my Hunter wellington boots on and tent under my arm ready for the big festival.

“We have to camp out, although I’ve never slept in a tent before so it will be a new experience. “I’ve worn wellies in Kinawley before plenty of times but not for something so glamorous. I’ll be armed with baby wipes and a hair piece, because I’m told that’s the essentials for T in the Park.” She will be accompanied by two Irish girls to the three -day festival in Perthshire this weekend. Those appearing at the festival include Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Pharrell Williams, Kodaline as well as top acts Calvin Harris, Biffy Clyro and Arctic Monkeys. Imelda continued: “Hopefully I will get to rub shoulders with some of the stars but I’m not going to think about it too much because I have a job to do when I’m there.”

Asked if she will be nervous with the pressure of such a big task, she said: “I own a salon and have a lot of brides and bridal parties to do so I’m used to a lot of pressure. I’ll be nervous, yes, but very excited about it as it’s a brilliant opportunity. “I love my job and I wouldn’t be where I am without all my clients and something like this is an extra bonus. I’m happy in my salon and my happy clients makes it all worth it.”
