News today that Dublin City Council has refused permission for the Monday and Tuesday Garth Brooks concerts, scheduled for July 28 and 29 could mean bad news for local star Nathan Carter.
Internationally acclaimed country artist Brooks was due to hold five capacity 80,000 concerts in Croke Park from Friday July 25 through to Tuesday July 29.
Nathan, based in Enniskillen, was due to support Garth Brooks on the two cancelled dates and as yet it is unclear whether he will have a supporting role to play in the Croke Park concerts.
Speaking to the Herald Nathan’s manager John Farry said he hoped a resolution could be found.
“We haven’t been told anything in an official capacity. We will have to wait and see because at this point we are watching online to hear more news. I rang Aiken (the promoters), but got no reply.
“There will be big implications for Dublin businesses in the loss of potential business. We’re disappointed at the news, but hope that a resolution can be found.”
