Enniskillen Gaels 0-13
Coa 0-7
Enniskillen Gaels avenged an earlier season defeat to neighbours Coa with a rather comfortable success in Brewster Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Gaels held an eight point interval lead before sealing a six point victory as they have made an impressive opening to their division following the split with two wins from two having conceded just 12points in those two ties.
Coa on the other hand remain an unpredictable outfit from one week to the next, a convincing win over Brookeboro was following up by this limb showing in Enniskillen.
The hosts raced into a four point lead by the midway stage and by half time it was 0-9 to 0-1 in the Gaels favour. Although playing with the wind in the second period, Coa never really got going.
The Gaels remained at arms length with both sides sharing the first six scores of the second half, Darren McQuade and Gary Lynch on target while Conor Kelly and Brian McAleer kept the hosts score ticking over.
Coa needed goals but a sturdy Gaels defence was unwilling to cough up any chances and with points all the O’Dwyers could muster they never threatened to stage the comeback required to take anything from the tie.
With 15minutes to play, Enniskillen remained comfortably ahead, 0-12 to 0-5. In the end the final quarter just petered out with the hosts maintaining the upper hand as they ran out victors by six on a score of thirteen points to seven.
Up next, Enniskillen go to Brookeboro and Coa host Belnaleck, two games both sides would be aiming to take full points from.
