VERY FIT… Fitness guru and personal trainer Kayla Itsines from Adelaide, Australia

Our beauty blogger Catherine McCurry on how you can Instagram to motivate you into getting back into a fit and healthy shape…

I’M AN avid fan of photo-sharing site Instagram. It’s great for style, fashion, hair and exercising tips and advice.

When I started using Instagram it was just to snoop at photographs of people I know and their lives but recently I’ve discovered a totally different reason to use the site.
Instagram is used by celebrities all around the world and is great to see how they keep fit through their workout routines and healthy meal-plans.

They have access to world-class trainers and nutritionists who are on-hand to ensure they are eating clean food and following intense workouts seven days a week.

Unfortunately, for most of us, our budgets don’t stretch that far and our work-out routines in the gym are generally basic or inspired by tips from the television and the internet.

While personal trainers are becoming hugely popular lately because of their knowledge and advice on how to lose weight and tone up, it can be financially difficult to have access to a PT all year round.

That’s why sites like Instagram can help motivate you to back into a fit and healthy shape.

I’ve recently discovered 23-year-old fitness guru and personal trainer Kayla Itsines from Adelaide, Australia.

With some 70,000 followers on Instagram, she has become hugely popular among young women and a number of celebrities.

Her photographs show off her enviable body she has achieved through a high level fitness regime and the foods she eats to help fuel her body.

As well as making my green with envy, the Australian fitness fanatic uploads great tips and work-out videos to show her followers on how training, focus and determination can help us in our bid to achieving our fitness goals.

Such was the success of her online blogging, Kayla released an ebook so her fans can follow her fitness routine at home.

The results from these are astonishing from those who have followed the ebook fitness plan. While it does come at a cost, you can still find some of its contents for free on her Instagram site.

Another fitness guru I follow is Russell Bateman’s Skinny B***h Collective. He coaches supermodels and athletes and writes for Vogue, New York Time, ELLE and Men’s Health Magazine.

He’s basically a health god when it comes to training.

Russell trains the rich and famous across the world and has a troop of devoted followers.

His workout videos contain a wide-range of elite and intense circuits which I can do at home or at the gym.

He advises on how to get the best out of gym equipment and how to use weights correctly to get the best results.

It’s a long-running myth that girls working out will end up looking bulky, but that’s not the case as can be seen in these Instagram sites.

I always follow these videos and picture tips on how to achieve the most from my workouts that I would never have known before.
