Nigel Farage backs save the Collegiate campaign

Controversial  leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage has backed the ‘Save the Collegiate’ campaign.

Meeting with UKIP candidates, including Fred Parkinson who is standing in Erne East, Mr Farage, was at the Balmoral Show last week.

Mr Farage spoke and gave his and UKIP’s full support for the school’s campaign to stay separate from Portora.

Mr Parkinson said that Mr Farage wanted to come to Fermanagh ‘but with time and so many appointments and people to meet made it impossible’.

On the upcoming elections, Mr Parkinson, spoke of the importance of Fermanagh having a UKIP candidate.

“Jobs are vital in Fermanagh and we need about 500 over the next four years as priority and lower rates without cutting services.

“Farming is also vital to Fermanagh and is considered a stable backbone of our economy in the county and farmers must be helped and given all available help in funding.

“The farmers puts food on our table the hand that feeds us and needs to be maintained as one of the very top priorities.”
