19-YEAR-OLD Cristian Mulligan is representing Roslea, Fermanagh – and Northern Ireland – in the Top Model UK Men’s final on Saturday.
The South West College student has been collecting votes online for the competition and will travel to The London Hilton Metropole for the final.
“A Lurgan based photographer and model coach (Avril Mawhinney) approached me and suggested that I create a portfolio of professional photos, which I did and found very interesting ,and that sparked my interest in becoming a modelling,” Cristian told the Fermanagh Herald.
“Feedback has been positive and all very encouraging. After assisting Avril at Top Model Ireland, I was selected to represent Northern Ireland in Top Model UK Men.”
Cristian is a Level 3 creative media student at the college – and cites his interests as singing, drama, music, musical theatre, and fashion.
“I am genuinely looking forward to it and I can’t wait until I do my first walk. I enjoy everything that is involved in it from rehearsal days and training days to the actual event and it’s all very beneficial.”
As part of the competition, there is a public vote online. You can vote at www.topmodeluk.com, by selecting finalists, then men, and then – Cristian hopes – click ‘Cristian M’.
“My future whether I win or not well I would certainly hope to get some recognition from it and possible modelling jobs locally or further a field or some PR work. Any recognition from it would be an amazing boost to my modelling career.”
Cristian’s sponsor on the night is The Beauty Box in Newtownbutler.
