Mallards heading to Windsor to get a result

Bard v ards 5

Whitey Anderson knows his side have the ability to cause Linfield problems

Ballinamallard travel to Windsor Park tomorrow (Saturday) buoyed by their winning result against Ards last weekend.

Manager Whitey Anderson knew how important that result was to his players because of the tough games that lie ahead, including Linfield on Saturday.

“I felt we played well in the second half, but was disappointed with our first half performance. We can’t afford to come out of the changing rooms at Windsor Park the way we did on Saturday,” said the Ballinamallard supremo.

He says it is still great for the club to be travelling to Windsor but says his players must go there with a belief that they can get a result.

“Linfield are a changed team from last season. They have new players in and if we go out with the right attitude, the desire and hunger then we can do well. We must keep our concentration. I know we have the ability to hurt any team in this league on our day,” he added.

The players at Ferney Park believe they can get a result against top teams in the league.

“Our intention will be to go there to win. I was impressed with our defensive style on Saturday, but we will have to be at the top of our game and we must hurt them when going forward.”

Striker Richard Lecky played his second full game and struck up a good partnership with partner Andy Crawford.

“Hopefully they can cause problems for Linfield on Saturday,” he said. “It would be good to score, but I would take any kind of result up there, but I would be delighted with a win. Every point in this league is vital and even one there would be a boost.”
Anderson recalled that in Ballinamallard’s previous three weeks games things just didn’t go to plan.

“We should have got more out of those games, but didn’t. I’ve told everyone that every point is vital to us.”
