DEREK Ryan has a special reason for looking forward to his concert performance in the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen on Thursday January 30.

Since going on the road with his band, Derek has acquired a strong affinity with the Erne county and is now delighted to be bringing his full production show to the lakeland territory.

“We have always been very warmly received in Fermanagh since we first started and I must say I am very excited about this forthcoming concert,” said Derek, “I understand that people are travelling from over a wide area to attend and obviously we will have to be on our toes.”

Derek’s rise to fame of course has been nothing short of meteoric. His song-writing skills have helped him to string together a series of top-quality hits that have brought a whole new dimension to the Irish country music scene.

And he is just itching to get back into the studio to lay down tracks for another CD.

“The difficulty is that we are fulfilling so many dates that it’s virtually impossible to find the time for this but that’s a problem that we are happy to face up to,” he said.

His Killyhevlin concert is certainly titillating the taste buds of his vast army of followers and indeed of quite a number of people who have yet to see him perform but are nonetheless familiar with hits such as ‘A mother’s son’, ‘Kiss me Mary’, Thank God it’s Friday’ and ‘Dreamers and believers’ which have rocketed him to the top.

Of course, all will be included in his programme at the Killyhevlin when Derek’s special guest will be the multi-talented Patrick Feeney, a consummate performer in his own right and another singer who has enjoyed his share of recording successes.

Derek and his band are known for their polished performances and his concerts are highlighted by professionalism, versatility and energy.

“We will be introducing some fresh elements into our show which we hope with find favour with patrons,” he concluded.

Tickets for the show on Thursday January 30 are priced at £20.
