BALLINAMALLARD entertain basement club Ards this Saturday in a game that they surely need three points from.

Ards sitting on 12 points will be looking to get themselves off the bottom run before Christmas, but Whitey Anderson will be telling his players this is a ‘must win’ game.

Three points from this one, before the difficult December programme of Linfield, away, Cliftonville away and Dungannon Swifts at home, would give his side a good lift.

Ballinamallard were beaten 4-1 when they travelled to Ards in September but manager Anderson is confident his boys can put things right on Saturday.

“The boys were so disappointed after the  Ballymena game and they are jus itching to get back out and play.

“It is a must win for us, but they are a good side capable ofscoring goals,” he said. “But we’ll be going out with the same attitude from start to finish.”

“The players know themselves what they have to do and I think they are ready to deliver. They are looking forward to the game. In fact the probably wish it was tomorrow. They have deserved a result over the past three weeks, but this week they really want to deliver.”

Ards know how to find the back of the net on their day, so Ballinamallard will have to be on their guard.

“We have to make sure that there is no slackness in any area of the park. We must close them out and concdentrate on finding the scores ourselves,” said Anderson.

“I believe we will create the chances on  Saturday and I’m confident we can take them.”

A victory on Saturday would be a huge lift for the  Ferney Park boys because of the tough fixtures through December.

After this it’s away to Linfield and Cliftonville before a St Stephen’s Day head to head against Dungannon  Swifts.

“Really though we’re only four points off the top half of the table. There isn’t a lot in it. The next six weeks is vital for us and we must make sure we take as many points as possible. We have to make sure we don’t become detatched from the top half of the table and the way to do that is win on Saturday.”
