Ballinamallard: McConkey set to retire

IT is understood that talented full back Mark McConkey is set to retire from football.

McConkey, who wasn’t in Ballinamallard’s starting 11 against champions Cliftonville on Saturday, came back this season after a serious injury last January.

The talented right back has been a mainstay in manager Whitey Anderson’s side for several years.

The calming influence in the backline has been at the Ferney Park club since his teenage ears, except for a short spell with Dungannon Swifts.
