This is not the first time the former Mount Lourdes Grammar School student has claimed first prize in the style stakes after winning the same title in the Leopardstown races in February this year.

After carefully selecting her race outfit the student said she was still surprised to win.

“I had a great day and it was lovely prize to win but I was very surprised by it. I’m really looking forward to the weekend away. The six tickets I received are actually for races at the Curragh on my birthday in September so I can put them to great use with my friends,” she said.

“I took the season into consideration and saw the hat first and fell in love with it. Because of the exceptionally good weather I choose a dress that was light in colour and I loved the lace.

“The shoes and bag were a match and went extremely well with the hat and so the outfit just came together harmoniously.

“Shoes and bag from Cilento design wear Strabane, hat was a Grainne Maher hat from the Lisburn road and the dress was a tempest hunter dress from London.

“I don’t really follow any particular trend, just my own instincts and preferences.”
