“We decided that we wanted, not only to have our special guest Nathan Carter perform, but wanted to showcase our pupils too,” explained principal, Julie Murphy.

Pupils performed ‘The school kids rap’, and ‘All we need’, and some students brought up to the stage, something that symbolised life at Willowbridge, with others singing a song relating to the items.

Nathan sang two songs, and the ‘place went clean mad’, followed by the cutting of ribbon by Mrs Hazel Lendrum, the first principal of Elmbrook, and Mr Brian Edwards, the first principal of the Erne school.

Close to a year ago, those two schools amalgamated to form Willowbridge.

“It was a lovely occasion,” concluded Julie, “it showed us how far we have come in a year. The children have so many more opportunities as a result of the amalgamation.”
