Latest: Kinawley alert declared a hoax

Police have confirmed that alert in the area around Stragowna Road, Kinawley, was a hoax. All roads are now re-opened. 

Police had been alerted to the area at around 8am on Tuesday morning. At around 10.30pm, they declared it as a hoax.

A number of homes were evacuated

The Stragowna and Drumroosk Road were closed.

Police are appealing for info.

Meanwhile, yesterday, businesses along East Bridge Street in Enniskillen were evacuated following a hoax alert.

Police attended the scene, however, nothing was found.

Earlier on Monday morning, a spokesman for the PSNI said:

“Police are currently in attendance at a security alert at East Bridge Street, Enniskillen. A number of premises have been evacuated.”

However, close to 12.30, yesterday, (Monday) police confirmed that the alert was over and nothing had been found.
