“IF YOU watch the show, you can see the shock on my face,” said Anthony McBrien, the day after he went through on TG4’s Glor Tire final, which takes place tomorrow (Wednesday).
On Wednesday past, Anthony found himself – again – in the bottom three. Two would go out.
“I thought to myself – the judges aren’t going to put me through. I thought I was gone.”
Anthony sang, in Irish, ‘The Isle of Inishfree’, and ‘Open up your Heart’ by Buck Owens on the night, and tonight, he will sing Noreen Bawn, an Irish ballad, and Angeline – a track from his new album.
The judges include broadcaster John Creedon, singer-songwriter Caitriona Ni Shuilleabhain and another singer-songwriter and former Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan.
He comes up against Adrian Ryan, and Grainne Galligan tomorrow night.
“I going to go down, sing my songs and do the best that I can do. I’ll not be disappointed,” he added.
“It’s a good thing to be doing, a great thing to be involved in.”
Anthony will perform in the final of TG4’s Glor Tire from 10.30pm tonight. To vote, text GLOR2 to 81108 (North) or GLOR2 to 53307 (Republic). Alternatively you can also ring 09016566102 or 1513415102 (Republic).
