A BURST pipe in the new South West Acute Hospital forced six patients to relocate to another part of the hospital this morning (Tuesday).
A number of ceiling tiles in a ward came down as a result.
The Western Trust has said that there is ‘no impact on services’, and the hospital remains ‘fully operational’.
The spokesperson said: “An incident occurred today in the early hours of Tuesday 19 February 2013 at the South West Acute Hospital. A number of ceiling tiles in a ward corridor came down as a result of a burst pipe. As a precaution six patients were safely moved to another part of the hospital and no one was harmed during the incident.
The Trust has asked the Northern Ireland Health Group and their facility management provider; Interserve to carry out an urgent investigation.
