Wondergoal sinks Mallards

Ballinamallard Utd v Cliftonville

Ballinamallard United 0
Cliftonville 2

A wonder strike from Stephen Garrett after just eight minutes set Cliftonville on their way to three points and their third victory under caretaker boss Gerard Lyttle.

The game finished 2-0 with David McDaid netting from the penalty spot after referee Mervyn Smyth awarded a controversial penalty on the  hour.
But it was Garret’s superbly hit strike from 25 yards which stole the shot at Ferney Park.

The Cliftonville man drifted in from the left flank and as the space opened up he unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner past keeper Alvin Rouse.
