Fr Brendan McManus discusses his new book with John McBrien

PROUD Lisnaskea native, Fr Brendan McManus, SJ, received a big reception when he signed copies of his soul-searching book, ‘Redemption Road: Grieving on the Camino’ in McBrien’s Newsagency on Saturday last.

Fr Brendan, who is now based in Belfast where he is a counsellor and John McBrien go back long ways, to the recent heyday of Lisnaskea Emmets GFC.

“He was very pleased with the turn-out”, John said afterwards.

“I think we sold 150 copies, which Fr Brendan autographed and, as you know, all the proceeds are going to the suicide awareness charity, Console.

“It was like a homecoming for him, and in fact he said that, that it was nice to be back home.”

But, it’s not the only book signing.

On Thursday 2nd October, the book will be launched in The Arrupe room, Milltown Park, Dublin 6 at 6.30pm, and on Tuesday 7th October, Fr Brendan will talk about his book in Gardiner Street Church, Dublin 1 at 7.15pm.

In the meantime, John Mc Brien has copies left, at £12.99 each.
