Special recognition for Enniskillen Pilgrim employees

TWO longstanding employees at a Fermanagh company have been recognised for their longevity and commitment to the business, after they marked almost 50 years of service between them.
Neil Johnston and Muriel Kelly were recognised for their employment at the local branch of Pilgrim’s Europe, which is one of the leading companies across facilities in Ireland and the UK.
From its base at the Carran Business Park, the facility employs over 300 people. It specialises in a range of branded products and household names including Fridge Raiders and Richmond.
Enniskillen Site Director at Pilgrim’s Europe, Kathleen McBrien, congratulated the employees.
“Congratulations to Neil [Johnston] and Muriel [Kelly] on their fantastic achievements, both achieving individual milestones they should be proud of,” explained Ms McBrien.
“We are privileged that, over the past 20-plus years, they have been a part of our company, growing their careers with us and serving as role models and mentors to the broader team.”
A graduate at Loughry College, Mr Johnston has worked as a Supply Chain Manager for Pilgrim’s Europe since 1999. He previously worked in production at the site for a 13-year period.
“It’s an ever-evolving industry that keeps you on your toes,” said Mr Johnston.
“Over the years, I’ve held three prominent roles at the site, and the experience and skills I’ve gained from them has been invaluable.”
Muriel Kelly, meanwhile, recently celebrated her 20 year employment with the company. She started of on the micro line, before working in various capacities, including in the production line.
For the past five years, Ms Kelly has worked on the vegan offering at the Enniskillen factory, saying that she has been “lucky enough to work with a great team” at Pilgrim’s Europe.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work with a great team throughout my career. Everyone works together and helps each other out when they need it,” added Ms Kelly.
“It makes it very easy to enjoy the job you do.”
