Four clubs were invited to compete for the shield and this year it was hosted by last year’s winners Slieve Russell, with the competition kindly sponsored by Gillan and David Wilson.
The course was in excellent condition, and scores were high. Daphne Gibson took the overall prize of a fantastic 42 points and helped her team, Lough Erne Ladies, secure victory.
Lough Erne will now look forward to hosting the competition next year.
Overall scores: 1st Lough Erne 250 pts; 2nd Slieve Russell 239 pts; 3rd Enniskillen, 211 pts; 4th Blacklion 188 pts.
At Lough Erne, Daphne has been playing well since the start of the season and won the first competition of the year with 38 pts. The following week was won by Roisin Henry who carded a great score of 39 points and Lady Captain Sharron Miles won the thirrd week with a nett 76.
A busy few months lie ahead for the club including a quiz night in the members loft on May 9, a darts night with a superb prize of overnight stay in Blackpool to watch the Darts Championships on June 7 and Captains prize for both ladies and gents on July 5.
Ladies Open Day and an opportunity to win a fabulous prize to Nashville takes place on August 7.
