Local woman Aine Walsh is preparing to confront her fear of heights in a daring effort to support the future of the Ederney community hall.
The 21 year old retail assistant will skydive on July 5 to raise funds toward the hall’s expansion, helping create a better space for local events.
“I’ve always had a fear of heights,” Aine said.
“But I think this will be a good challenge for me and good craic too.
“It’s something different and it’s all for a great cause.”
The funds raised will go towards expanding the current hall, creating a welcoming space that can serve not just Ederney but neighbouring towns as well. The improved facility aims to host community events, gatherings, and programmes that bring people together.
Anne Monaghan from the Ederney Community Development Trust praised Aine’s bravery and community spirit.
“We are all behind Aine.
“She’s doing something amazing and I certainly couldn’t do it myself,” she laughed.
As the jump date approaches, Aine remains focused on the cause. With courage and a strong sense of local pride, she’s proving that no fear is too great when it comes to giving back.
Aine aims to raise £1,500 in donations and they can be made in person at Mace Ederney or online via Revolut at revolut.me/aineta9qz.
