Appeal after public toilets damaged in Ballinamallard

THERE has been anger following yet another instance of vandalism in the local area.
On Monday this week the Council issued an appeal for information after the public toilets in Ballinamallard were vandalised in the previous days.
“Following an incident of antisocial behaviour and vandalism at the public toilets in Ballinamallard at the weekend, unfortunately the toilets will be closed until further notice while repair works are being carried out,” said a Council spokesman.
“We would ask if anyone has any information in relation to this incident to report it to the PSNI on the non-emergency 101 number.”
Earlier this month the ‘Herald reported on how there had been an increase in serious incidents of vandalism and antisocial behaviour at a number of public places across Fermanagh.
In recent weeks this has included damage to a picnic table at Enniskillen Castle, as well as damage to public toilets at Muckross in Kesh and in Lisbellaw.
“These incidents of vandalism deny residents and visitors access to services and facilities and divert Council resources which could have been used to benefit the district,” said the spokesman, earlier this month.
“Vandalism also has a negative effect on communities and visitor experiences of our district.”
“This behaviour is a disgrace. It cost money which could do more help elsewhere.”
