Fermanagh Lakeland Forum to cost around £70 million

THE cost of redeveloping the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, which is expected to be given the green light at a Council meeting tonight (Tuesday), is reported to be in excess of £70 million.

It was previously reported the cost of developing the Enniskillen establishment would be around £57.4 million, but it’s now expected that the overall price of the new build has jumped significantly.

A reported £20 million will be put forward from the UK Government’s ‘Levelling Up Fund’. It’s understood other money will come from Council resources, potential borrowing and a rates hike.

Over 100 people turned out to the Enniskillen Hotel on Monday night for a public meeting, which saw representatives from the county’s political parties hear the views of concerned residents.
