Sunday’s derby fixture between Enniskillen and Valley went ahead despite other games falling foul of the weather. The visitors arrived with great confidence to Mullaghmeen after being promoted mid-season following the restructuring of the Women’s Premiership.
‘Phase 2’, as it’s referred to, saw Belfast Harlequins drop down and Valley go up and all teams went into last weekend’s round of fixtures with zero points on the board.
The new format came as somewhat of a surprise to Enniskillen management, who said “there was talk” but nothing had been officially communicated with the clubs or players.
“It’s a bit disappointing that they (Ulster Branch) changed the thing halfway through the season without (us) knowing any information about it,” said Enniskillen coach James Moore.
