Fermanagh Hotels to battle it out for top gongs

SOME of Fermanagh’s leading hotels and short-stay locations are set to go head-to-head for glory at the prestigious and renowned Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards.
The Manor House Country Hotel, located in Killadaes in Enniskillen, has been shortlisted for two accolades at the major awards ceremony which celebrates the best in business in the North.
Run and managed by siblings James and Rosemary McKenna, The Manor House Country Hotel has been nominated in the ‘Romantic Hotel of the Year’ and ‘Spa Hotel of the Year’ categories.
The Manor House Country Hotel is certainly no stranger to picking up awards, with the Enniskillen venue recently named as the top wedding venue in the North for the four successive year.
Rosemary McKenna was very pleased that the Fermanagh hotel was recognised by ‘Wedding Dates’ which monitors and celebrates the achievements of some of the North’s leading businesses.
“Weddings have always been central to what we do, and we’re so proud to consistently win awards like this which affirm our place among the best in the business,” she told the Herald.
Meanwhile, there will be plenty of other Fermanagh flavour in those categories as well.
The Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards recently confirmed that Lusty Beg Island Resort and Spa is also in the running for the ‘Spa Hotel of the Year’ gong at their upcoming ceremony.
Finn Lough Lakeside Hideway, which recently underwent major redevelopment and investment, is also in the running for the ‘Romantic Hotel of the Year’ award.
Finn Lough, which recently was named in the ‘Top Ten UK Outdoor Spas’, has earned a reputation for its top-class facilities and it is a popular stop-off for visitors and tourists to Fermanagh.
Based in Aughnablaney, on the Fermanagh border, the Finn Lough business has been owned by the Beare family for over four decades.
The outdoor facilities were first purchased by husband and wife, Bobby and Rosie Beare, in 1981. Then, the Enniskillen hotspot was known as ‘Fermanagh Lakeland Lodges’.
The award-winning hotspot was then taken over by brother and sister, Michael and Gillian Beare, in 2013 and the siblings have invested over seven-million pounds in redeveloping the tourist spot.
After releasing its latest category shortlists, the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards said it’s committed to celebrating the best in business throughout the North.
“These awards celebrate the heartbeat of our region’s hospitality industry,” said a spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards.
“They not only recognise excellence but also inspire continuous growth, promoting a spirit of innovation that shapes the future of Northern Ireland’s hospitality landscape.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
“Their dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on Northern Ireland’s hospitality sector, contributing to its growth and success.”
