THE ERNESIDE branch of Cara Pharmacy is set to close as the company blames challenges in retail and Brexit for the store’s closure.
Cara Enniskillen, in Erneside Shopping, Centre was acquired by the Cara Group in 2015 and believed to have employed around six people.
The store will close at the end of June and the company have said all staff have been informed and offered alternative work in other stores.
The Enniskillen store is one of two outlets in the county with another store open on Kesh Main Street. The company also has outlets nearby in Ballyconnell and Bundoran. Cara was popular among female shoppers as the store stocked an extensive range of fragrance and beauty ranges such as Lancome and Benefit Cosmetics with a wide range of top skincare brands.
A spokesman for Cara Enniskillen confirmed the closure saying, “It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that we have made the very difficult decision to close the store at the end of June.
“Challenges in retail, combined with the uncertainty of Brexit, have resulted in us exercising a break option in our lease. We are working closely with our team in Enniskillen and have offered all staff alternative work in other stores.
“We would like to reassure you that this decision, while very difficult to make, is in the best interest of the business and we look forward to working to ensure a successful 2019 and beyond.”
