TRAFFIC woes are looking for motorists as Lisnaskea Main Street is set to be reduced to single file traffic this weekend.
SGN Natural Gas have announced that traffic on the Main Street of Lisnaskea will be reduced to single file controlled by temporary traffic lights from 6am Saturday June 30th until 6am Monday July 2nd from Lisnagole Road roundabout to Lisnaskea Health Centre.
The works is being conducted as part of essential works for the Gas to the West project.
David Butler, head of engineering, confirmed the arrangements and emphasised that this method would help effectively manage the flow of traffic through Main Street during a quieter time of the year also coinciding with the school holidays.
Mr. Butler explained: “Our dedicated project team and contractors are pulling out all the stops to ensure that significant ongoing work to create the infrastructure to bring natural gas to the West for the first time is progressing well. The work in Lisnaskea is a significant phase of this development and we are happy that we are able to develop a plan which will help minimise any impact on residents and businesses in the town.’’
SGN Natural Gas stated that it was engaging directly with local residents, traders, civic leaders, project partners and other stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure they received prior notification of roadworks and estimated timelines for completion.
