A 20-year-old man, charged with the attempted murder of a baby boy in Enniskillen earlier this month, has been remanded in custody for a further month.
Timuras Kozlov appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court via video-link from Hydebank Prison on Monday. He is charged with the attempted murder of the six month old at an address on Castlecoole Road in Enniskillen at around 9pm on the evening of Saturday 6th May.
An earlier court hearing was told that Kozlov had denied the allegation in four police interviews and claimed the incident leading to the charge was an “accident.
Details of the alleged offence were not outlined in court. The baby boy is being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast after sustaining serious injuries.
Kozlov, who is originally from Lithuania, appeared before Monday’s hearing dressed in a white t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms. The court proceedings were relayed to him through a translator.
A PPS spokesman said a full file in the case had been requested and applied for a four week adjournment.
Defence solicitor Garry Smyth said he was making no contrary submissions as the case was still at an early stage.
No application was made for bail before District Judge Nigel Broderick. Kozlov was further remanded into custody to appear again before Enniskillen Magistrates Court by videolink on Monday, June 19th.
