A 50-year-old man appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with nine counts of making threats to kill, harassment, sexual assault and sending menacing text messages.
William Birney with an address at Hillview Road in Enniskillen is charged in relation to the offences against a female, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
The court heard that the offences occurred on various dates from March 3rd to 17th this year and include three counts of making threats to kill, three charges of improper use of a mobile phone to send menacing messages, harassment and sexual assault.
The Public Prosecution Service requested a four week adjournment for preparation of a full file of charges against Birney.
He was released on bail of £500 and ordered not to have any contact with the injured party and to stay away from her address. The case was adjourned until October 10th. District Judge Nigel Broderick also imposed a reporting restriction prohibiting publication of the woman’s identity.
