A LOCAL man accused of causing the death of a man by dangerous driving in Enniskillen in 2014 has been sent forward for trial.
Conor Briody (20) of Ferney Rise, Enniskillen charged with causing the death of Vaidas Urbonas by dangerous driving on the road between Fairview Avenue and the Cornagrade Road in Enniskillen on August 23, 2014.
Briody is also charged with causing the death of Mr Urbonas by driving while uninsured and by driving without a licence, and with causing grievous bodily injury to Daiga Nille by dangerous driving on the same occasion.
At the brief court hearing at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, the charges were read to Briody and the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) said there was enough evidence against the defendant that he had a prima facie case to answer. Briody, who is unemployed and in receipt of benefits, said he was aware of the charges against him but made no reply when they were put to him and offered no evidence at this time.
District Judge Nigel Broderick sent Briody forward to Dungannon Crown Court on April 5, releasing him on his own bail of £500 on the condition he remained living at Ferney Rise in Enniskillen.
