HE may have retired from International rugby and currently recovering from an horrific hamstring injury sustained in the World Cup, but Paul O’Connell remains a legend in our eyes.
A Fermanagh man recently received a letter of thanks from O’Connell, after he had initially sent him a letter of support after Munster were beaten by Saracens in the Champions Cup on January 17, 2015.
After hailing O’Connell as the ‘Taoiseach of Irish rugby’ I suppose he was due a response and here it is:
Although it arrived a little late the hand-written letter is a lovely gesture from the Irish rugby legend and something the Fermanagh man will treasure for a lifetime.
