This year’s County final of Scór na nÓg will take place in the Millennium Hall, Donagh.
Action gets under way this Saturday evening 7th November at 7.30pm sharp and all clubs have been invited to take part and give their talented young people the chance to progress and represent their county at the Ulster semi-final stage in three weeks time.
This is the GAA’s answer to X Factor and allows those who may or may not be as talented on the pitch to show their skills in different areas of music, singing, dancing and drama. This County has produced some fine talents over the years at this level including Pauric McAloon RIP of Aghadrumsee, The Maguire family from Derrygonnelly and Maria Connolly Newtownbutler, to name just a few who did the county proud in Scór at Ulster and All-Ireland levels.
The first competition is the Rince Foirne (Céilí Dancing) and is followed then by the Amhránaíocht Aonair (Solo singing) and has entries from quite a few of the Clubs so far, then next section is Aithriseoireacht (Recitation / Story-telling), and Léiriú Stáitse (Stage Presentation) and Rince Seit (Set Dancing).
The Tráth na gCeist (Table Quiz) will be held in December for all Clubs to send a team of four to represent Fermanagh in All-Ireland Tráth na gCeist. There will be no Ulster final for this, all 32 Counties go through to All-Ireland level-so get your thinking caps on and see if you have four Fermanagh teenagers wanting to represent their county in an All-Ireland final!
All clubs have been invited to enter and if anyone has a talented group interested in entering please contact your local Club Secretary or Mary Sweeney County Cultural Officer on 079-77902420 before Friday morning in order to take part.
