A MEMBER of a well-known Enniskillen family, Maeve Sheridan (28), was found dead on Thursday of last week, 9th April.

Maeve was described as, ‘a very popular young woman, with a smile for everybody’ and, outside of her immediate family, her death is deeply regretted by the wider family circle, aunts, uncles and cousins who were very fond of her.

The funeral Mass at St Michael’s Church, Enniskillen on Sunday last was celebrated by Monsignor Peter O’Reilly, PP.

He told mourners their presence ‘speaks to the family of the late Maeve Sheridan and it speaks to each of us’.

He went on: “Our presence is primarily for Maeve’s mother and father, Liz and Dermot, and for her brother, Cormac. It’s for the wider family circle, all of whom have been bereaved in the last year with the deaths of Ellen Sheridan (Maeve’s grandmother), Enniskillen, and of Benny Beggan (her uncle), Roslea.

“It is to God that we commend Maeve today, with the knowledge that she was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a friend, one who was loved, one whose smile, with its innocence, revealed a unique person within. We believe that God sees those things and keeps them to eternal life.”

Maeve was pre-deceased by her infant daughter, Caitlin, who died shortly after birth in May 2007.

A PSNI spokesman said its officers were examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her 20s at a property at Derrin Park in Enniskillen.
