McKenna looking for more wins

Ballinamallard v Portadown
Hard talking and tackling midfielder James McKenna admitted he was pleased with a clean sheet on Sataurday, but not with a point against Portadown on Saturday.
“We need wins. In the second half we went for the win. In the first half against the breeze we were happy to sit back and contain them and feel them out a little. But we said at half time that we had the breeze and more legs in our team and we finish strong in every game we play here. So we certanly went for it second half and finished strongly.
“But the final ball was disappointing. Several of us including myself where the final ball wasn’t just good enough.
“We had some good chances, but on the same note you always have to look at both sides and Gary Twigg has had a great chance as well. If they go 1-0 up it may be different, but from our perspective after the 7-0 defeat to go Linfield and Portadown and concede one in two games, probalby from a mistake, is encouraging. It stands us in good sted. We have a lot of home games between now and the end of the season and the teams around us all have to come here. So we’ll be hoping if we can keep the clean sheets the goals will come at the other end.”
McKenna felt the referee did OK.
“What he took from the Portadown players – I don’t know how he listened to it from the first minute to the last. One or two yellow cards maybe he could have avoided, but all in all he did OK.
There was a bit of needle in the game and there were one or two bad tackles, but all in all I though he handled it all right.”
McKenna is only weeks back from a long term injury and turning to his own performance he said, “It’s good to be back playing and every week when you get 90 minutes it gives you more confidence and your body conditions itself to it. It’s great to have a run of games after a long time  out. Can’t have any complaints from that perspective. I’d like to start getting a few wins.”
