The deceased was a key member of several community groups, among them Women of the World, the Fermanagh Women’s Network and the Fermanagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership.

Her infectious personality made her a hit with one and all.

Geraldine McCaughey, the secretary of Women of the World, spoke feelingly about her.

She told the Herald: “It isn’t possible to put into words the void that Anita’s passing will leave in our lives.

“She was not only an inspirational leader and dedicated volunteer but, also a true friend.

She may have departed from this world, but she will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to meet her.

“On behalf of Women of the World, I would like to thank everyone for all the touching messages of sympathy and to express our heartfelt condolences to Tapan, Rohan and the Chatterjee and Mukherjee families.

There will be a cremation service tomorrow, Thursday in Belfast but, in the coming weeks, her friends and former colleagues in the various organisations she was involved with, will be arranging a memorial service in Enniskillen.

Ex-St Michael’s College student, Rohan, Mrs Mukherjee’s son, made a miraculous recovery from life-threatening injuries a few years ago in a road traffic collision.

He now lives in Belfast where he is employed by a software company.
