STUDENTS from South West College are putting the very finishing touches to their artwork in preparation for their annual exhibition.
This is the 7th year of the Enniskillen campus foundation diploma exhibition in the Higher Bridges Gallery.
The exhibition showcases the up and coming talent of the next generation of “artists” prior to their departure to degree courses, here and further afield.
The college is renowned for its success at developing and allowing the young talent to expand their skills and to provide the opportunity to exhibit in a professional way.
These students have been accepted onto degree courses of their choice and this is a wonderful chance to see their raw talent and energy.
This exhibition has something for everybody, multimedia, fashion with live models, installation works, textiles, graphics, print, film and Fine Art paintings.
The diverse talents of these students will be showcased and on the opening night you will have the opportunity to meet the artists and tutors …..and maybe engage with them, for a commission!
Course tutor Clare McCarroll explained the primary aim of the level 3 foundation diploma in art and design is to educate students to make informed decisions which will facilitate their progression to appropriate higher education in art and design.
This programme is characterised by experiential, experimental and integrated learning relying upon the development of manual skills.
The programme ensures that the full range of teaching expertise and learning opportunities are provided which are necessary for student awareness of the demands of art and design, and recognition of the common principals and distinctive characteristics of subjective disciplines.]
There is always something to delight the eye and challenge thought but you can be assured, of a wonderful night of talent, professionalism, colour, exuberance and variety.
The First Trust Bank (Manager- Sean Darcy) will be awarding a student a prize for the best in show and also Ken Ramsay will choose a student for most innovative work on show.
