ROSLEA’S latest male model export, Cristian Mulligan, was unsuccessful in the UK Top Male Model final in London Saturday night.
But, the 19-year-old student at South West College, enjoyed the experience – and insists that it is by no means the end of his modelling career.
“I unfortunately didn’t get anything but, after all, what I did achieve was as my photographer said: Out of 1,000 guys I was 1 of 14 who were picked for the finals,” Cristian told the Fermanagh Herald.
The final was held in The London Hilton Metropole on Saturday evening, and the day involved a busy schedule for Cristian.
“Everyone arrived at 11am sharp. We initially did a role call and reacquainted ourselves with each other.
“We were shown our changing area for the night in the glorious Hilton Metropole and went down to the runway.
“We were allowed two practice walks before we get our final walk clothes fitted. This led us to around 5pm, and then there was an hour break before we started getting makeup, hair and our first walk clothes on.”
From that point on, it was ‘game faces’ as Cristian took to the runway.
“The walks initially seemed somewhat daunting but once backstage and hearing the audience calmed me down.
“Once on the walk it seemed like I was on and off it in no time but the response from the audience alone, not to mention the atmosphere in the room, was electric.”
Cristian admitted that he did find it difficult not receiving an award, but he still had a very positive experience.
“I have a meeting with two of the singing performers from the night as they had heard that I was a Grade 8 tenor and contemporary singer. And I also have Top Model Ireland to look forward to.”
He concluded: “So on a whole I can honestly say it was an incredible experience and I’m so honoured to have been a part of it.”
