THUMBS UP… Givenchy
CHILLY and damp weather can often wreak havoc on our skin.
As the temperatures drop our bodies becomes susceptible to the dramatic change in weather causing dry, flaky and sore red patches to appear on our skin.
We tend to drink less water during the winter months which means our skin will become even more dehydrated than usual and can leave our skin feeling rough and damaged.
This is caused by the lack of moisture in the air when it’s cold and in a dry environment water is lost from our skin cells leaving it feeling sore and chapped.
This is generally aggravated by our exposure to central heating at home or at work and as the wintry weather takes its bite, our skin demands a moisturiser that’s heavier than what we would have been using.
I have tried and tested a number of body lotions with the following conclusions.
The Body Shop – Coconut shimmer body butter – The scent of this body butter is subtle and not too overpowering.
While it’s not the most conditioning moisturiser for the skin, the shimmer looks really well if you’re going out for the evening. Best used on dry/normal skin.
Dior Svelte body contouring – advertised as a sliming, firming, toning and smoothing moisturiser – it certainly conditions the skin and is not too sticky.
It has a nice subtle scent, perfect for all over the body. It has received 5* reviews for it’s firming and toning functions. It contains one special ingredient – adiponectin – a protein which our bodies often lack.
Givenchy no complex body contouring and firming cream – It’s advertised as a product designed for the buttocks and thighs and the majority of its long-term users noticed a vast difference after a number of weeks saying the buttocks and thighs area was noticeably firmer.
The body contouring cream is not overly thick and dries quickly and definitely one of Givenchy’s better beauty products.
Givenchy Dahlia Noir – This perfume and moisturising body milk is incredibly conditioning, smooth and has a gorgeous delicate scent which lasts all day.
Vibrant, light and effortless to use.
Burberry Brit perfumed body lotion – This long-lasting scented body lotion leaves the skin feeling smooth and looking radiant.
The body lotion could be used as an alternative to Burberry perfume itself – particularly if worn during the day.
The smell usually last up to five or six hours while keeping your skin hydrated.
